Euroleague Basketball is pleased to announced a new partnership that makes Acibadem Healthcare Group the official medical services provider for the next two Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Fours. At the crowning events of European club basketball this season in May in Istanbul and next season in Belgrade, Acibadem will provide all the medical services and professionals for Final Four events at the arenas, fan zones, official hotels and more.
The partnership was formalized Tuesday during a press conference in Istanbul at which the official logo for the 2017 EuroLeague Final Four was unveiled. Acibadem CEO Mehmet Ali Aydinlar attended the event alongside Euroleague Basketball president and CEO Jordi Bertomeu.
The agreement brings greater exposure for Acibadem across Europe in general and with special focus on Turkey and the Adriatic region, two of the core markets of both Euroleague Basketball and Acibadem. The partnership highlights the opportunities that have come from the growth of the EuroLeague and the increasing interest that its new format is generating. The excitement will culminate with the 2017 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Istanbul from May 19 to 21, an event that sold out in one hour and a half.
Acibadem has recognized the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the premier European basketball competition for clubs, as a perfect match for one of the world's largest chains of private hospitals as both companies share values of excellence, quality and continuous improvement as pillars of their vision.
"Health and fitness are at the very center of any sporting endeavor, so it greatly pleases Euroleague Basketball to have Acibadem Healthcare Group as our new official partner, providing medical services at the Final Four to teams, officials and fans," Jordi Bertomeu, EuroLeague Basketball President and CEO, said. "The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague’s status as the first true league in European sports history and our pinnacle weekend at the Final Four have proven attractive to a new and important sector, health, so we are proud to make Acibadem part of Euroleague Basketball's growing family of partners."
"Acibadem is celebrating the 25th year of its foundation. In 25 years, we have sponsored numerous sports clubs, federations and international sports organizations, both in Turkey and abroad. As Acibadem, we are very pleased to sponsor Euroleague, one of the most important basketball organizations in the world," Acibadem CEO Mehmet Ali Aydinlar said. "As we continue with our works in sports medicine and science with Acibadem Sports, a sports medicine centre accredited by FIFA, we are also adding value to Turkish basketball with Acibadem University Basketball Team both in youth and senior teams by providing players, trainers and technical staff to Turkish National teams."
With its 22 hospitals and 17 medical centers, Acibadem has become the world's second largest healthcare chain. It has grown rapidly since its inception in 1991 to become a leader in Turkey in the field of private healthcare services. That growth has expanded globally with its partner IHH Healthcare Berhad, one of the biggest groups in the Far East.
Under Mr. Aydinlar's leadership, Acibadem has been an active supporter of Turkish and international sports, including as the health sponsor of the Turkish football, basketball and volleyball federations and national teams, in addition to the sponsor of numerous individual athletes in Turkey.
