The result snapped Hamburg’s three-game losing streak in thrilling fashion and lifted Hamburg to a 3-4 record in the group while Hapoel, which has now lost three in a row, dropped to 3-4.

Yoeli Childs paced Hamburg with 20 points and 11 rebounds. James Woodard and Lukas Meisner added 18 points apiece and Ziga Samar tallied 14 points and 9 assists. Hapoel forward Tomer Ginat finished with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Xavier Munford added 19 points for the visitors.

Hamburg got off to a flying start as it carved out a 13-0 lead early in the first quarter but the visitors, roared on by a vast contingent of traveling fans, stormed back to surge ahead 53-43 midway through the third. The lead changed hands time again in a frantic climax in regulation, before clutch three-pointers from Woodard and Meisner allowed the hosts to pull away to 94-90 late in overtime and close the game out.
