Gran Canaria has re-signed veteran center Oliver Stevic to a one-year deal, the club announced on Tuesday. Stevic (2.05 meters, 38 years old) joined Granca during the 2020-21 season, and last year he averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
Gran Canaria inks Stevic for another season
Stevic is heading into his 11th EuroCup season, having first made his debut in the competition back in the 2007-08 campaign with Slask Wroclaw of Poland. He has also played in the EuroCup for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade of Serbia, EWE Baskets Oldenburg of Germany, Stelmet Zielona Gora of Poland, and MoraBanc Andorra and Joventut Badalona of Spain. In total, Stevic has played 102 games in the EuroCup, with his averages standing at 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds. In 2019, he was part of the Andorra team that reached the semifinals. He also played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Bilbao Basket of Spain in 2011-12.
Stevic started his career with FMP Zeleznik of his native Serbia and, aside from the aforementioned EuroCup clubs, he has also played for Borac Cacak and Masinac Kraljevo of Serbia, Anwil Wloclawek of Poland, Bilbao Basket, Fuenlabrada and San Pablo Burgos of Spain, Royal Hali Gaziantep of Turkey, Novipiu Casale Monferrato of Italy and Igokea of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
