Gran Canaria reached the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals last season and now one of the competition's classic teams is ready to give it another go with a new philosophy. The club brought in Jaka Lakovic to be the new head coach and a bunch of new faces have come as well to make sure that Granca can go even further this season.
BACKCOURT
Two newcomers will be at the helm of the team at guard - Ferran Bassas and Vitor Benite. These two players have plenty of EuroCup experience. They are joining a couple of other guards who also boast their own fair share of experience in the competition, AJ Slaughter (eight seasons) and Andrew Albicy (six seasons). While Slaughter likes to light it up from deep, Albicy is among the best passers ever in the league. Young Jovan Kljajic will be the fifth guard in reserve, waiting for a chance to shine. The wings of Granca's backcourt will be covered by Miquel Salvo, who averaged 7.2 points in his EuroCup debut season, and Nicolas Brussino.
