Prometey Slobozhanske is set to make its 7DAYS EuroCup debut and in so doing will become the first Ukrainian team to play the competition since Budivelnik Kyiv during the 2013-14 season. The club brought in a bunch of well-rounded veterans to complement a core of experienced Ukrainian players, all led by head coach Ronen Ginzburg.
BACKCOURT
Scoring machine Gian Clavell is expected to lead Prometey's backcourt. Clavell led the 2021-22 Ukrainian League in scoring with 26.4 points per game for Budivelnik and helped the team in many other ways (5.1 rpg., 4.6 apg.). He will be the team's first option on offense and he can surely make things happen with the ball in his hands. Issuf Sanon is also a good scorer who uses his quickness to attack the rim, giving Coach Ginzburg even more firepower. Denys Lukashov is a very experienced player who should play a key role on defense. He returns to the EuroCup for the first time since 2016. Swingman D.J. Stephens helps on the boards and the defensive end due to his timing and great ability to read passing lanes. Illya Sodorov can share the ball and pull the trigger from downtown, too.
