Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul center Johnathan Motley is set to be sidelined for up to two weeks due to a left calf injury suffered in his team's domestic game on Sunday.
Motley (2.06 meters, 27 years old) was injured in a Turkish League game against 7DAYS EuroCup side Turk Telekom Ankara, and as such, is sure to miss Fenerbahce's road game at Olympiacos Piraeus on Tuesday and its home game with Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday.
Motley, in his first EuroLeague season, has been a major factor in Fenerbahce topping the standings with a 9-1 record. He leads Fenerbahce in scoring (14.1 ppg.) and performance index rating (16.6), ranking first among all Turkish Airlines EuroLeague newcomers this season in the latter. He also ranks sixth among all EuroLeague players in offensive rebounds (2.7) and 11th in total rebounds (5.5).
Motley's absence adds to Fenerbahce's injury list. Forward Nemanja Bjelica has yet to play this season since rejoining the club with whom he won his 2015 MVP trophy. Shooting guard Scottie Wilbekin remains out of action with a knee injury suffered in late November. And forward Tarik Biberovic won't make the trip to Piraeus due to illness. On the other hand, forward Dyshawn Pierre may return after not having played since Round 8. His participation will come down to a game-time decision, the club said.
