Last summer, Virtus Segafredo Bologna guard Iffe Lundberg returned to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with a point to prove. There is no hiding Lundberg's ambition to make a name for himself in the EuroLeague, while he also hopes to help inspire the next generation in his home country of Denmark.
The 28-year-old made his EuroLeague debut with CSKA Moscow in the second half of the 2020-21 season and then saw himself given more of a starter's role in the following campaign. He would finish the season with a short spell in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns.
Now, back in Europe, Lundberg has set himself a lofty target: "I want to establish myself as one of the best players in Europe. I don't compare myself to other players; that's not to sound selfish, it's just that every player's game is different. I know what I'm capable of doing on the floor and, for me, it's a matter of having the opportunity to go out there and show it."
In this exclusive interview, Lundberg discusses the growth of basketball in Denmark, playing in the EuroLeague, his hectic first half of 2022 and his message for the next generation, while Kyle Weems and Sergio Scariolo also offer their thoughts on the Virtus guard.
