After making Final Four appearances in each of the last two seasons, Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius's roster will look a little different in 2022-23. Six new faces join the core of returning players and there is hope that it could be the perfect mix of experience and ambition that allows the team to lift the title next May.
BACKCOURT
The biggest impact on the Barcelona backcourt has been the return this summer of guard Tomas Satoransky, who left for the NBA in 2016. He returns to Barca at the prime of his career with the goal of leading the team to the final stop. Satoransky will have the young talent of Rokas Jokubaitis by his side. The reigning Rising Star Trophy winner is expected to have a larger role and will surely share that bill with Nico Laprovittola, who had a strong season with the team and extended his contract over the summer. Cory Higgins will also be a stellar piece in the backcourt Barca puzzle. Higgins hopes to have an injury-free season that allows him to shine. Alex Abrines and Kyle Kuric are also returning to provide firepower from the wings and so will Oriol Pauli, who returns to his boyhood club after several seasons away with main roles on clubs in the 7DAYS EuroCup. Sergi Martinez will round out the Barca backcourt, looking for chances to shine among so many stars.
