Turkish Airlines EuroLeague fans are in for a treat this Friday night, as Milos Teodosic and Vasilije Micic – two Serbian backcourt masterminds and two former EuroLeague MVPs – come head-to-head for the first time in six years at Paladozza.
Teodosic's Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Micic's Anadolu Efes Istanbul both enter the game with a record of 4-5, and it's worth remembering that this is also a meeting between the reigning champion of the 7DAYS EuroCup, Virtus, and the team that has won the last two EuroLeague titles, Efes.
The last time that EuroLeague fans were able to watch Teodosic and Micic face off was in the 2016 EuroLeague playoffs. At that moment, Teodosic was about to earn his second consecutive All-EuroLeague First Team honor before going on to win his lone EuroLeague title, while Micic was a 22-year-old coming off the bench for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade in his second season in the competition.
There was a vast difference between the two Serbians during their last encounter, with Teodosic playing a key role as CSKA Moscow swept the best-of-five series. Micic, meanwhile, was a far more peripheral figure. During that matchup, Teodosic averaged 14.7 points on 64.3% three-point shooting, as well as 4.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds, whereas Micic had averages of 2.3 points and 2.0 assists in 13 minutes on the floor.
