AS Monaco added firepower to its roster by inking shooting guard Jordan Loyd to a two-year deal. Loyd (1.93 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Zenit St Petersburg, where he averaged 13.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He helped Zenit win the VTB United League title for the first time in club history. Loyd joined Zenit from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, where he averaged 17.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 29 EuroLeague games in the 2020-21 season. He was third in scoring in the 2020-21 EuroLeague campaign, only trailing Alexey Shved of Khimki Moscow Region (19.8 ppg.) and Mike James of CSKA Moscow (19.3 ppg.). Loyd also helped Zvezda win the Adriatic League, Serbian League and Serbian Cup titles.
Monaco brings in scoring ace Loyd

Monaco will be Loyd's fourth EuroLeague stop. He made his EuroLeague debut with Valencia Basket during the 2019-20 campaign. The season before, Loyd helped Toronto win the NBA championship. He started his professional career in the 2016-17 season in the G-League with Fort Wayne before debuting in Europe with Hapoel Eilat in the Israeli League. Loyd then split a season between Toronto and its G-League affiliate team Raptors 905 before joining Valencia in 2019.
"The club's leaders told me directly about the goals of the season and that convinced me immediately. I kept an eye on the team last year. Their combativeness in the EuroLeague, the seriousness of the staff and the management made me want to join Monaco," Loyd said after the agreement. "The club has big dreams, I know we can achieve them. I can't wait to start the season. I am used to being in teams with high ambitions. And we know that it is possible, that these are not empty words. I'm ready for this challenge, that's what makes you love high-level basketball."
