On the eve of a double-round week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, AS Monaco announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement with head coach Zvezdan Mitrovic to terminate their contract together.
Monaco, Coach Mitrovic part ways

Mitrovic, 51, had become a trademark figure on Monaco's bench during the last decade. He joined the team in March of 2015 while it was in the French second division and managed to take it to the league title. The following season, Monaco fell to ASVEL in the French League semifinals and then in the 2017-18 season, Mitrovic took the team to the Basketball Champions League title game, losing to AEK Athens. He was named Coach of the Year in France for the second consecutive season.
After that, Mitrovic joined ASVEL to coach the team in its return to the EuroLeague, but in July of 2020 he returned to Monaco, and together they won the 7DAYS EuroCup title in 2021, earning a spot in the EuroLeague this season. Mitrovic was also named Coach of the Year in the EuroCup. In its maiden season in the EuroLeague, Monaco was at 5-9 when coach Mitrovic was released, while in the French League it stood in second place at 8-3.
"Zvezdan Mitrovic's name is forever etched in AS Monaco Basket’s history." said the statement released by the club. "The leaders and staff of the Roca Team sincerely thank Zvezdan for the work accomplished."
