Olympiacos Pireaus kept its unbeaten record in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season intact at Buesa Arena on Friday night by beating Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, which was 3-0 coming into this game.
Vezenkov, Sloukas keep Olympiacos undefeated!
The Reds survived a thriller, beating Baskonia 92-97 to extend its record to 4-0 in the standings. Sasha Vezenkov led the winners with 26 points. Kostas Sloukas added 20, Shaquielle McKissic had 12, and Giannoulis Larentzakis got 11, while Moustapha Fall pulled down 10 rebounds for the Reds. Maik Kotsar led Baskonia with 16 points. Tadas Sedekerskis added 15, and Daulton Hommes and Vanja Marinkovic each had 12. Markus Howard, the star of Baskonia's last two wins, had 11 for the hosts, which led 74-65 at the end of the third quarter.

Vezenkov stepped up early with 8 quick points, getting help from McKissic and Thomas Walkup to give Olympiacos a 4-18 lead. McKissic and Sloukas helped boost the Reds' lead to 16-32 after 10 minutes. Sander Raieste and Sedekerskis rescued Baskonia, and then Kostar had 8 points in a 19-0 run which Rokas Giedraitis capped with a triple put the hosts ahead, 50-42, right after halftime. Sedekerskis, Hommes and Thompson all struck from downtown to make it a double-digit game, 67-57. Vezenkov singlehandedly kept Olympiacos within nine points, 74-65, after 30 minutes. Sloukas had 10 points in a 0-14 run that made the guests regain a 74-79 lead. Howard got Baskonia within 87-89, but Sloukas and Walkup did enough to keep the Reds ahead until the final buzzer.
