Boulogne Metropolitans 92 took a big step toward the knock-out records by edging Dolomiti Energia Trento 80-86 on the road on Tuesday. Will Cummings paced the winners with 21 points and 7 assists.

Metropolitans won their fourth straight game to improve to 8-5 in Group A. Vince Hunter added 15 points and Tony Crocker and Tomer Ginat each scored 12 for the winners. Jordan Caroline led the Trento attack with 19 points, Cameron Reynolds added 13 and Diego Flaccadori 11. The loss was Trento’s eighth in a row and dropped its record to 1-12. Trento led 75-74 with less than 4 minutes to play, but Hunter, Ginat and Cummings took over in crunch time as Metropolitans went on a 2-10 run to claim an important road win.

Crocker got Metropolitans going with a three-pointer, igniting a 0-7 run that Cummings capped with a driving layup. Flaccadori stepped up with a jumper and Johnathan Williams added a put-back layup, but Halilovic and Lahaou Konate boosted the visitors’ lead to 4-12. Crocker hit a triple and Halilovic's three-point play made it a double-digit game, 6-18. Caroline and Toto Forray each struck from downtown and Williams scored down low to bring Trento within 14-20. Keith Hornsby took over with a backdoor layup and Ginat joined the three-point shootout, but Caroline, Forray and DeSonta Bradford got Trento even closer, 23-25, after 10 minutes.
Forray kept pacing the hosts and Andrea Mezzanotte buried back-to-back three-pointers to complete Trento's comeback, 31-28, early in the second quarter. Reynolds hit a floater, but Bandja Sy found his first points and Cummings added back-to-back baskets for a 33-34 Metropolitans lead. Crocker buried one from beyond the arc, but so did Caroline for a 36-37 score. Ginat banked in a jump hook and added a six-meter jumper. Flaccodri drew Trento within 38-41. Cummings and Caroline traded free throws and Forray's fastbreak layup fixed the score at 42-43 at halftime.
Williams scored down low soon after the break and got help from Reynolds to give Trento a 46-43 lead. Flaccadori followed a layup-plus-foul with a five-meter jumper to boost the hosts' margin to 51-45. Cummings stepped up with a driving layup and Ginat struck from downtown, igniting a 0-7 run that Sy capped with a dunk for a 51-52 Metropolitans edge. Reynolds fired in back-to-back triples for a 57-54 Trento lead. Hunter scored around the basket and Crocker took over with a three-point play, but Caroline kept Trento close, 59-61. Bradford struck from beyond the arc and Hunter and Hornsby boosted the visitors’ margin to 62-67 after 30 minutes.
Mezzanotte dunked early in the fourth quarter and Caroline brought the hosts within 66-67. Hornsby rescued Metropolitans with a layup-plus-foul. Sanders scored off a steal and Caroline added a coast-to-coast layup that tied the game at 70-70 with more than 6 minutes to go. Halilovic hit a jump hook that David Michineau followed with a tip-in that gave the visitors fresh air to 70-74. Williams scored again and Caroline ignited the crowd with a huge dunk-and-foul for a 75-74 Trento lead. Hunter answered with his own three-point play and added a layup for a 77-79 Metropolitans lead. Ginat scored in transition and Cummings added a three-point play that sealed the outcome, 77-84, as Trento did not recover.
