ratiopharm Ulm announced on Sunday that it has signed athletic forward L.J. Figueroa for the coming season. Figueroa (1.98 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Grises de Humacao, where he averaged 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists this season in the Puerto Rican League. He spent the 2022-23 season the G-League with the South Bay Lakers. There Figueroa averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

First overseas experience
Figueroa played college basketball for St. John’s University in New York and for the University of Oregon before beginning his professional career. He has also played for Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and for Santa Cruz in the G League. Figueroa will make his European debut this season in the BKT EuroCup with Ulm.
"LJ is a very athletic player that we can use in different positions, but who should play in the focus on the ‘4’," Ulm head coach Anton Gavel said. "From a player type like him, we hope for as offensive power as well as an incredible amount of energy on both sides of the court, especially on defense. We are very pleased that LJ has decided to start his European career with us at the OrangeCampus and are convinced that the fans will enjoy his game."
