Abramo Canka lands at Virtus

Virtus Bologna has announced the signing of Abramo Canka on a multi-year deal.
Canka (1.98 meters) has spent the last three years playing in college in the United States, representing UCLA in 2022-23, Wake Forest in 2023-24, and Stetson in 2024-25. Last season, he averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 assists, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steal in 26 NCAA games for Stetson.
The swingman, who was born in the Italian city of Genoa, returns to Italy after five years away. He started his career with Stella Azzurra and the Roseto Sharks in the 2019-20 campaign, then he played for Nevezis in Lithuania in 2020-21 and part of the 2021-22 season, before joining Lokomotiv Kuban. He made 16 appearances in the Russian second tier for Lokomotiv and also appeared in one BKT EuroCup game, knocking down one three-pointer in five minutes on the floor.
