Greens playmaker Kostas Sloukas will make his 400th career appearance and attempt to outshine one of the league's fastest rising backcourt stars, Juan Nunez. Barcelona will have to deal with the athleticism of Mathias Lessort, who has averaged 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over the last four games. That will involve stretching the floor through Jan Vesely, who is on track to attempt more three-point shots than any season since 2011. Scoring threat from the backcourt will be led by Kendrick Nunn, who averages 20.6 points in the last five games, and Kevin Punter, whose 27 points were not enough to defeat Real Madrid last week.

EuroLeague 25 Moments: When Panathinaikos took Virtus’s crown in 2002
- Barcelona had won 10 straight games against Panathinaikos and four in a row in Athens before Panathinaikos's 89-81 win last March.
- Barcelona has won 13 straight on its home floor against Panathinaikos dating back to Game 2 of their 2013 playoff series.
- Barcelona and Panathinaikos squared off in the 1996 EuroLeague final in Paris, France. Panathinaikos edged Barcelona 67-66 to conquer its first EuroLeague title. Panathinaikos legend Fragiskos Alvertis led the way with 17 points.
- Barcelona and Panathinaikos have met twice in the EuroLeague Playoffs. In 2011, Panathinaikos beat Barcelona 3-1 without the home-court advantage. In 2013, Barcelona ousted Panathinaikos 3-2.
- Barcelona center Willy Hernangomez is the brother of Panathinaikos forward Juancho Hernangomez. They have been teammates on the Spanish national team.
