Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade reached a new agreement with team captain Branko Lazic to keep working together for one more year, the club announced Wednesday. Zvezda has an option to extend the deal until the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Lazic (1.95 meters, 33 years old) averaged 3.7 points on 86.4% free throw shooting in 25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his 11th with his current club. He helped Zvezda win three domestic title - the Serbian League, the Serbian Cup and the Adriatic League.

In his time with Zvezda, Lazic helped the club win seven Serbian League, six Serbian Cup and six Adriatic League crowns. He also took Zvezda to the 2016 EuroLeague Playoffs, losing against CSKA Moscow. Lazic started his professional career with FMP Zeleznik in 2007, joining Zvezda in 2011. In 198 EuroLeague career games with Zvezda, Lazic amassed 722 points (3.6 ppg.). He also played 45 EuroCup games with FMP and Zvezda, averaging 3.2 points. Lazic has also been a member of the Serbian national team, helping it get a silver medal at EuroBasket 2017. He claimed a gold medal at the 2007 U18 European Championships, too.
