Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade

Crvena Zvezda, known worldwide by the translated name ‘Red Star’, was founded in 1945 and immediately started its domination with 10 straight domestic championships. Zvezda won a half-dozen trophies in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including a national championship and the 1974 Saporta Cup – its lone European trophy to date. However, Zvezda had to wait until 1993 to win another piece of silverware, the first of the three Serbia and Montenegro championships, before returning to prominence at the continental level in 2006 and 2007 with ULEB Cup quarterfinals appearances. Zvezda won its first of three consecutive Serbian Cups in 2013, advanced to the 2014 EuroCup Semifinals and a year later made its EuroLeague debut. That turned out to be a sign of things to come. Under the guidance of Coach Dejan Radonjic, Zvezda won its first triple-crown, lifting the ABA League, Serbian League and Serbian Cup trophies in 2015. The following season, Zvezda took another step forward by advancing to the 2016 EuroLeague Playoffs, where it put up a great fight against eventual champion CSKA Moscow. While continuing to grab domestic silverware at a rapid rate, including triple crowns in 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2024, Zvezda continued to be competitive in the EuroLeague. Last season, Zvezda’s EuroLeague journey finished in the play-in showdown. Now this ambitious club from the Serbian capital is determined to keep pushing and reach heights it has never reached before.
