Slask Wroclaw has announced Ainars Bagatskis as its new head coach on a one-year deal.
Bagatskis arrives at the club after spending the last three seasons with Romanian side CSO Voluntari. The former player, who featured for Zalgiris Kaunas in the 2003-04 and 2004-05 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons, returns to the BKT EuroCup after a nine-year absence.
He has a 16-41 record as a head coach in the EuroLeague, having coached Zalgiris Kaunas (2005-07), Budivelnik Kiev (2013-14), Nizhny Novgorod (2014-15), and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (2016-17).
The 58-year-old play-caller also spent three years coaching in the EuroCup, two of which came with Budivelnik (2012-14), and the other came with Nizhny Novgorod (2015-16).
