Aris appoints Bogdan Karaicic as head coach

Aris Thessaloniki has found a new head of bench in Bogdan Karaicic, the club announced Friday. The past four years Karaicic spent on the staff of the great Zeljko Obradovic at Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade.
At the end of last season, Karaicic served in Obradovic’s place as Partizan's head coach in the Serbian League playoffs, where his team won four of five games en route to winning the Serbian championship, the club’s first in more than a decade. Earlier in 2025, Karaicic was appointed as the head coach of the Armenian national team.
This marks Karaicic’s return to the BKT EuroCup, where he coached one game as an interim head coach of Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in 2019, a road win at Limoges CSP. He also coached in the competition as an assistant for two seasons at Lokomotiv, from 2018 to 2020, and with Partizan in the 2021-22 campaign.

Karaicic started his coaching journey more than 20 years ago with youth categories, first in Hungary then in Denmark. He moved to his first head coaching position at the pro level with Horsholm in 2011 and then switched to fellow Danish side Naestved in 2013 and remained there until 2016.
For the 2018-19 campaign, he joined Lokomotiv staff as an assistant, and in 2020-21 he was briefly with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade under coach Sasa Obradovic, wnd then Mega Basket also in the Serbian capital, before joining Partizan in 2021.
He is now set for his first full EuroCup campaign as a head coach with Aris, another club with rich basketball tradition and a growing ambition, where he will work with newly appointed GM Nikos Zisis.
