Besiktas signs forward Kelan Martin
Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul added depth and physicality to its roster by inking forward Kelan Martin to a one-year deal, the club announced Thursday.
Martin (2.01 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir, where he averaged 13.4 points on 45.3% three-pointers and 4.5 rebounds in 35 Turkish League games last season, helping his team reach the semifinals.
He started his professional career with German side MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg, and also played for Minnesota, Indiana and Boston of the NBA, as well as for Iowa, Birmingham and Grand Rapids of the G League.
Before all that, Martin has a standout senior season at Butler University, averaging 21.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 33 NCAA games in the 2017-18 campaign. He is set to make his EuroCup debut with Besiktas next season.
