A veteran of four EuroCup seasons joins Bourg
Bourg adds veteran swingman Brandon Paul
Last season's BKT EuroCup finalist Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse inked a one-year deal with veteran scorer Brandon Paul, the club announced Friday afternoon. Paul (1.93 meters, 33 years old) played with Buducnost VOLI Podgorica last season, averaging 7.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 18 EuroCup appearances. He also posted 8.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in the ABA League games.
Paul is a veteran of four EuroCup and a pair of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons. He began his professional career with Nizhny Novgorod, where he posted 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 12 EuroCup appearances in the 2013-14 season. Later, the American guard suited up for Anadolu Efes Istanbul (2016-17) and Olympiacos Piraeus (2019-20) in the EuroLeague, before returning to the EuroCup in 2021-22 with Joventut Badalona, and midway through the 2022-23 season with ratiopharm Ulm. That was also his best seasons in the competition, when he posted 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists. With Ulm, Paul also became a German League champion.
He has also played for the Canton Charge and the Austin Spurs in the G League, the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls and the Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin in China, and the Adelaide 36ers in Australia.
