Bourg re-signs power forward Maksim Salash
Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse and power forward Maksim Salash agreed to stay together for one more season, the club announced on Monday. Salash (2.08 meters, 28 years old) averaged 8.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 23 BKT EuroCup games with Bourg last season, helping his team reach the Finals. He played a big role in the playoffs, getting 12 points and a PIR of 17 in the quarterfinals against Prometey Slobozhanske, and amassing 19 points, 4 rebounds and a PIR of 19 in do-or-die Game 3 of the semifinals against Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul.
Salash grew up with Tsmoki Minsk of his native Belarus and joined Spanish side Cajasol Sevilla at a junior age. He also played for Castilleja Cajasol, Huesca, Ourense and San Pablo Buegos of Spain, AZS Polfarmex Kutno on Poland, Kalev Cramo Tallinn of Estonia, Minsk, and Nizhny Novgorod of Russia. He helped Minsk win two Belarusian League titles in 2018 and 2020, lifted the Estonian League trophy with Kalev in 2019, claimed the BCL and Intercontinental Cup crowns with Burgos in 2021, and also won the Russian Cup title with Nizhny Novgorod in 2023. Salash has also been a member of the Belarusian national team. As a junior, he helped Cajasol win the ANGT Rome tournament.
