

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica secured a statement 89-79 victory at Moraca against Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv in Round 15 of the 7DAYS EuroCup on Tuesday evening, bringing an end to the visitors’ seven-game winning run. The hosts improved to 9-6 whereas Hapoel dropped to 10-5. Buducnost also won the head-to-head tiebreaker between the two teams after a solid performance on defense.
As a result of this win, Buducnost moved from sixth up to fifth in the standings, while Hapoel remains third. Erick Green scored 21 points off the bench for Buducnost and Cameron Reynolds recorded 16, while Petar Popovic netted 12. As for the visitors, Chinanu Onuaku and Tomer Ginat tallied 14 each, with the former collecting 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Buducnost got off to a solid start and took a 6-0 lead following back-to-back baskets from Popovic. Hapoel soon bounced back, with J'Covan Brown sinking a two-pointer to tie the game, 6-6. Popovic took his tally to 7 points after scoring from behind the arc for a 14-8 margin midway through the first quarter.
Hapoel's JP Tokoto elevated for a windmill dunk after stealing the ball to reduce the deficit, 14-10. What followed was a trading of blows between the two teams, as the hosts took a 21-18 lead into the second quarter.
The visitors went almost 4 minutes without scoring a single point, with Buducnost being dominant on defense and blitzing into a 17-0 run inspired by Green, who scored 13 points off the bench in the first half, to help his team grab a 36-18 lead.
Buducnost passed the 50-point mark before halftime for a 52-34 lead, but the visitors hit the ground running after the break and went on a 0-7 run to reduce the deficit to 52-41. Onuaku and Ginat ran the show on offense and forced Buducnost head coach Vladimir Jovanovic to call a timeout. Jovanovic brought on Green, who sunk 3 free throws, with Reynolds hitting his third three-pointer to stretch the gap back to 16 points, 58-42.
Hapoel was not able to take the deficit down to single digits in the last quarter, as a focused Buducnost assumed full control of the game to eventually pull away to a comfortable win.
