Buducnost VOLI Podgorica added some firepower and experience to its backcourt by signing shooting guard Allerik Freeman, the club announced Tuesday. Freeman (1.91 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Besiktas Istanbul, where he averaged 18.9 points and 3.8 assists in 13 Turkish League games last season. He started the 2022-23 campaign with Umana Reyer Venice and was worth 9.8 points in 12 EuroCup games.

Freeman started his professional basketball career with Hungarian side Alba Fehervar and had also played for Frutti Extra Bursaspor of Turkey, Shenzhen Leopards of China, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne of France and CSKA Moscow of Russia. In 21 career EuroCup career games with Bursaspor and Reyer, Freeman has averaged 14.0 points on 41.2% three-point shooting and 2.2 assists. He also has EuroLeague experience, averaging 7.4 points in 18 games with ASVEL in the 2020-21 season.
