Bursaspor shoots its way past Cedevita, 111-93

Frutti Extra Bursaspor got the new calendar year off to a great start with its best-ever offensive performance in the 7DAYS EuroCup, as it thrashed the visiting Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana 111-93 at Tofas Spor Salonu on Wednesday night. Bursaspor did not only set its single-game record in scoring, but it also made a record 18 three-pointers and tied its highest-ever mark with 28 assists.

Bursaspor never trailed in this game and led by more at least 13 points during the entire second half as it coasted to a comfortable win, which improved it to 6-4 record in Group A, while Cedevita remains in the last place with a 2-8 record. Onuralp Bitim scored 20 points and dished 6 assists to lead the hosts on the way to victory. Anthony Clemmons had 19 points, while David Dudzinski and Enes Taskiran scored 18 apiece. Also in double figures for points were Derek Needham with 13 and Yigitcan Saybir with 11. For the visitors, Yogi Ferrell had 23 points and 7 assists. Josh Adams finished with 20 points, with Amar Alibegovic adding 17, Edu Muric chipping in 15 and Alen Omic scoring 10.
Bursaspor came out on fire, with Clemmons, Bitim and Dudzinski all coming to the fore. Dudzinski had a dunk and a pair of triples to open a 15-4 lead early on. Two triples from Clemmons and one from Omer Utku Al opened a 26-10 advantage after just 7 minutes, and the lead was as big as 18 points before Alibegovic closed the first quarter with a triple to make it 30-15. Taskirin's added to Brusaspor's three-point tally early in the second, but Muric nailed one of his own before Ferrell hit 3 consecutive three-pointers to get the visitors within 38-31. A third three from Muric cut it to 40-34, but the hosts put together a 10-1 run to take a 56-41 lead into halftime.
The hosts needed just 2 minutes and 15 seconds at the start of the third quarter to put together a 10-2 spurt, capped by another triple from Dudzinski, making it a 22-point margin. Saybir's layup opened a 75-52 lead before Adams and Muric fueled a 2-10 run for the visitors. Bursaspor entered the fourth quarter up 80-64, but the visitors refused to go away, with Ferrell nailing one from long range and Omic scoring inside keeping their slim hopes alive. However, a jumper and a triple from Clemmons helped restore a 20-point lead, 95-75, midway through the fourth quarter. Bursaspor then closed it out, setting three club records in the process.
