Those would be his last points, however, as a minute later, Adams got tripped up in defensive transition, was whistled for an unsportsmanlike foul, and left the floor wincing in pain due to a hand injury, never to return.
Unfortunately, everyone lost the chance for Adams to attempt what might have been just the 10th triple-double in EuroCup history.
He already had 25 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds at that point, with almost 5 minutes left to play during which there was no doubt that he would be central to Cedevita's continued comeback attempt. Alas, without him, Cluj reclaimed the momentum and won by 18 points, 94-76.
