Chemnitz adds frontcourt presence with Amadou Sow

NINERS Chemnitz bolstered its frontcourt for the 2025-26 season by signing versatile big man Amadou Sow, who arrives from SIG Strasbourg of the French League.
Sow (2.06 meters, 26 years old) brings previous EuroCup experience with him after averaging 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 11 games with Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana during the 2023-24 campaign, though his season came to a premature end with a knee injury. Last season Sow returned to action with Strasbourg in January and averaged 7.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14 games.
“Amadou is entering his fourth pro season and already has experience in the EuroCup,” said head coach Rodrigo Pastore. “He’s a strong rebounder and brings versatility on both ends of the floor. After recovering well from a knee injury, he’s ready to take the next step with us.”
After playing college basketball at the University of California at Santa Barbara, the native of Mali began his professional career with ADA Blois in the French top division in 2022.
“After speaking with Coach Pastore and Julien Rahier, I was impressed by the club’s professionalism, culture, and clear vision,” Sow said. “Joining the NINERS is exactly the kind of opportunity I’ve been hoping for, and I look forward to contributing on and off the court.”
