The Cuban is staying put in Romania
Cluj re-signs high-flying Karel Guzman

U-BT Cluj-Napoca extended swingman Karel Guzman for another season, the club announced. Guzman (1.88 meters, 30 years old) has spent the last five years with the Romanian team.
Last season, he averaged 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals in the EuroCup, as Cluj reached the quarterfinals. Guzman also posted 13.3 points, 3.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals while helping Cluj win the fifth consecutive Romanian League championship.
Over the past three seasons since both Guzman and the club have made their respective EuroCup debuts, a native of Cuba has played in 47 games, starting in 39, and has posted 8.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals.
Guzman began his professional career in the 2017-18 season, as he played for Ciclista Juninense of Argentina. Guzman then went on to represent Ciclista Olimpico, also of Argentina, for the next two years before moving to Romania to join Cluj in 2020. He is also a member of the Cuban national team.
