Virtus Segafredo Bologna advanced to the Italian Cup semifinals with a 93-81 victory over Happy Casa Brindisi at Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro.

Coach Sergio Scariolo’s men outscored Brindisi in all four quarters to capture the victory. Marco Belinelli paced the winners with 23 points on 5-of-10 three-point shooting. Kyle Weems posted 17 points and 9 rebounds, Mam Jaiteh also scored 17 and Kevin Hervey added 12 points. Wes Clark led Brindisi with 19 points.
Belinelli nailed back-to-back three-pointers as Virtus stormed out to a 12-3 start. After Brindisi closed the gap, Jaiteh scored 6 points in a 9-1 run and Virtus led 26-20 after 10 minutes. Brindisi tied it at 31-31 on a Riccardo Visconti three early in the second quarter, but Weems and Amar Alibegovic combined on all the points in a 9-0 Virtus run to pull away again and led 51-42 at halftime. The margin swelled to 16 in the third quarter and Brindisi never got closer than 7 the rest of the way.
