Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana took a 2-0 lead in the Slovenian League finals by downing Helios Suns 87-75 in the Slovenian capital on Sunday.
Domestic leagues: Cedevita gets closer to Slovenian title

Cedevita is one win away from winning its second consecutive league title. Helios hosts Game 3 on Tuesday. Jaka Blazic, Alen Omic and Zoran Dragic led the winners with 14 points apiece. Omic added 12 rebounds for a double-double. Alen Hodzic added 12 points while Zach Auguste and Marko Radovanovic each had 10 for Cedevita, which outrebounded Helios by 50-34, pulling down 17 offensive boards. Leon Santelj led Helios with 18 points. Cedevita made 1 of its opening 20 three-point shots but Hodzic dynamited the game from beyond the arc in crunch time.
Helios used an 0-8 run to get a 24-28 edge at the end of the first quarter. Radovanovic and Auguste stepped up for Cedevita and Blazic scored off a steal to tie the game, 47-47, at halftime. Dragic had 6 points in an 8-0 run that allowed Cedevita to get a 61-56 lead late in the third quarter. Helios bounced back and took the lead, 66-68, with over 9 minutes left. Auguste followed a dunk with a jumper, igniting a 17-2 run in which Hodzic struck three times from downtown to break the game open, 83-70, giving Cedevita full control of the game until the final buzzer.
