Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana produced a magnificent second quarter to set up a big home win over Valencia Basket on Wednesday night.
Telling numbers: Second-quarter blitz led Cedevita to key win

Trailing by 8 points, 23-31, after scoring just 5 points in 7 minutes to bridge the first and second quarters, a three-pointer from Edo Muric was the signal for the home team to unleash a blitz of offense for the remainder of the quarter. Jacob Pullen scored a couple of three-pointers and Melvin Ejim added another before a flurry of inside baskets was followed by another deep strike, this time from Zoran Dragic, to complete a run of 27 points in less than 8 minutes going into the locker rooms.

That barrage of scoring meant that Cedevita had scored 9 three-pointers on just 14 attempts in the first half, with six different players on target from deep led by a trio from Pullen. And although the game was a lot tighter in the second half, it eventually proved to be enough to propel Cedevita to a vital victory in the race to secure homecourt advantage in the playoffs.
