Umana Reyer Venice could clinch a berth in the knock-out rounds with a victory when it hosts already-eliminated Promitheas Patras on Wednesday evening.
Keys to victory: Reyer vs. Promitheas

Perimeter defense is important for Reyer
Reyer needs a win not only to clinch a spot in the knockout rounds, but to gather some positive momentum as it heads towards the eighthfinals. The team has dropped four in a row and this game is in all likelihood its last home game of the EuroCup season. Reyer has an above-average defense which is fueled by its perimeter players. Reyer’s pressure on opposing guards has led to the team ranking fifth in steals (7.6 spg.), fourth in opponents' three-point shooting (33.8%) and third in forced turnovers (14.5 per game). Considering that Promitheas commits a relatively high number of turnovers (13.4 per game) and is among the worst three-point shooting teams (32.3%), a good defensive showing by the Reyer guards could make the difference.

Offensive boards could propel Promitheas
Promitheas has lost five straight road games and only scored 80 points in one of them. However, a strong offensive showing is a recipe for beating Reyer, which is 0-8 this season when allowing 80 points. Promitheas has averaged 79.3 points per game in its wins this season, so reaching that number in this game could make all the difference. Promitheas has not been a strong offensive rebounding team this season, but it set a club record with 18 offensive boards when these teams met in Round 8 in Greece. A similar showing on the offensive glass could boost the Promitheas attack and help it reach 80 points.
