Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana recorded one of the best shooting nights in competition history in defeating Frutti Extra Bursaspor 103-86 on Wednesday in the Slovenian capital. The winners made 68.4% of their shots, which stands as the seventh-best shooting night in EuroCup history.

Yogi Ferrell led five Cedevita scorers in double figures with 19 points as the Slovenian champs won for the first time in 2022 and improved to 4-7 on the season. Jacob Pullen added 17 points, Jaka Blazic and Zoran Dragic each scored 16 and Alen Omic paired 12 points with a career-high 7 assists for the winners. Bursaspor, which was without leading scorer Allerik Freeman, who joined Turkish Airlines EuroLeague side CSKA Moscow earlier in the week, lost its third straight game to fall to 3-7. Derek Needham led Bursaspor attack with 26 points, Onuralp Bitim tied his personal best with 15, Metin Turen added 14 and Dave Dudzinski 12 and Kevarrius Hayes 11.

Blazic had the hot hand early with a triple and a layup courtesy of Dragic’s steal for the game’s first 5 points. Needham got the visitors on the scoreboard with a triple. The hosts committed turnovers on three consecutive possessions and Bursaspor took advantage to tie it at 10-10 with a floater by Needham. Omic made a jumper to start the scoring in the second half and Dragic made 4 free throws over two possessions to stretch the lead to 65-53. Hayes and Bitim kept the Bursaspor offense running and Turen’s third triple made it 69-60. However, mounting foul trouble forced Hayes and Needham to the bench. Another three by Turen and a free throw by Tolga Gecim narrowed the gap to 71-66. Pullen and Muric kept Cedevita in control and a Pullen-to-Auguste alley-oop slam restored a double-digit lead. Ayberk Olmaz buried a three for Bursaspor on his first touch before a bucket by Dragic made it 79-70 through three quarters.
Olmaz scored through a tip-in, but Ferrell scored at the other end and drew Hayes’s fifth foul. Coach Dusan Alimpijevic received a technical foul for arguing the call and the margin was back in double figures. Auguste threw down a monster slam and Pullen connected from deep to make it 87-72. Needham and Pullen traded shots and Omic scored on the offensive glass. A jumper in the lane by Blazic pushed the difference to 20 with 5 minutes remaining. The teams traded shots in the final minutes with a three by Dragic taking the hosts’ tally to three figures en route to the victory.
