Umana Reyer Venice secured a big victory in Group A as the Italian side defeated Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana at home for a second straight win. Reyer built a big lead in the second quarter and carried that to a 76-68 victory for a 2-2 record.

Allerik Freeman led Reyer with 15 points and Marco Spissu added 12 points and 5 assists. Cedevita still has not won this season at 0-4 despite Yogi Ferrell pouring in 27 points and Alen Omic collecting 11 points and 21 rebounds to become the EuroCup’s all-time leader in rebounds.

Neither offense started on fire with the score just 2-0 more than 3 minutes into the game. Reyer heated up with 10 straight points to lead 12-3 and it was 20-15 after 10 minutes. The hosts remained ahead the entire second quarter, extending the cushion to 33-20 with a 9-0 run and leading 38-29 at the break. Cedevita could not cut into the gap with Reyer answering every challenge and multiple times pushing the cushion to 13 before leading 58-49 after 30 minutes. The visitors trimmed the deficit to 58-52 only to have Reyer drain 3 triples within 2 minutes to lead again by 13 points with 6 minutes to play. Cedevita could not get closer than 8 points the rest of the way.
