Part of a six-way tie in the Group A table was broken on Tuesday when Umana Reyer Venice rallied to upend 7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys 74-71 at home on Tuesday.
Reyer rallies past Lietkabelis, 74-71, at the finish



Reyer, whose record rose to 3-2, played from behind much of the night and trailed 55-65 with 5 minutes left before Derek Willis started the comeback with 5 consecutive points and Mitchell Watt stepped up late. Watt led the winners with 19 points while Allerik Freeman added 17 and Willis 14. Watt and Willis led Reyer's 46-31 advantage in rebounding, too. For Lietkabelis, now 2-3, Jamel Morris poured in 25 points while Benas Griciunas had 16 and Kristian Kullamae 11.

Lietkabelis went up 2-6 before Watt and Freeman hit Reyer's first baskets. Morris and Kullamae stayed true from deep to keep the visitors ahead 10-12. Freeman soon drilled a triple and fed Yankuba Sima to put Reyer up 17-14 after 10 minutes. Jeff Brooks from downtown and Watt inside raised Reyer's lead to 25-18 but Lietkabelis attacked the basket to go ahead 25-26 on 8 points in a row by Griciunas. Morris took over then with 6 points that sent Lietkabelis ahead 33-38 at the break. Benas stretched that difference to 33-41 for the visitors before Watt and Freeman reeled it back for Reyer to get within 41-42. Lietkabelis stayed a step ahead until Granger and Watt downed put-backs as Reyer reclaimed a 50-49 advantage. But Kullamae took it back, 52-55, with a step-back triple to beat the third-quarter buzzer. Morris, Gyorgy Goloman and Vytenis Lipkevicius upped the Lietkabelis lead to 55-65 midway through the fourth quarter. Willis single-handedly cut that in half but Lietkabelis hustled ahead 61-69 on another basket by Lipkevicius. Marco Spissu and Freeman drew Reyer within 69-71 going into the final minute then Watt stole and dunked to tie it. Freeman hit 1 of 2 free throws with 33 seconds left, after which Watt added 2 more for the final difference in Reyer's favor.
