Three assists in a row by Ferrell turned into a couple of inside buckets by Omic and a triple by Adams that granted the hosts an early 9-3 edge. Ferrell kept finely running Cedevita’s smooth offense, collecting 2 more dishes and pushing his team to a 28-21 lead after 10 minutes. Despite Josh Hawley’s efforts to hold up Ulm, the visitors’ erratic long-range shooting allowed Cedevita to escape to 40-26 midway through the second quarter. Alibegovic maintained the hosts’ double-digit lead later, although Klepeisz showed up right after halftime with 5 points in a row, including a mid-court buzzer-beating three, to keep Ulm in the game at the break, 48-39.
Marko Jeremic came up big from downtown and extended it again to double-digits, 56-41, with Ulm unable to chain together successful offenses. Jallow came to the rescue then to avoid a premature sinking for Ulm but had to head to the bench with his fourth foul late in the third quarter. Cedevita took advantage of it to quickly rebuild a comfortable 72-55 advantage that became 78-57 entering the last period. 5 points in a row by David Fuchs seemed to re-energize Ulm, while the hosts slowed down in offense for a while. It happened to be just an illusion that came to its end when Adams drilled a three and continued with a fastbreak slam to establish an 85-62 margin that sealed the outcome with 6 minutes remaining.
