Bahcesehir will attempt to continue its remarkable return to the EuroCup by marching straight into the finals with a series sweep of a Gran Canaria team which has no other option but defending its home court to force a do-or-die Game 3 back in Istanbul.

The Turkish team's trademark defense set the tone for the series opener on Tuesday, with Dejan Radonjic's men showing why they have allowed fewer points than any other EuroCup team by holding Gran Canaria to 66 points.
Bahcesehir also found enough offensive production to get the job done by scoring 74 points, with the main contribution courtesy of a second consecutive big game from center Marko Simonovic (20 points), who also combined with fellow big man Tai Odiase to snare 11 offensive rebounds.
In addition to competing better in the battle of the boards, having been outrebounded 42-27 on Tuesday, Gran Canaria also needs to exert better control of the basketball after recording nearly as many turnovers (14) as assists (15).
With another low-scoring game likely, every basket becomes even more valuable so the Spanish team will hope for maximum output from the scoring potential of Caleb Homesley, Nico Brussino and John Shurna, who were all restricted to single digits on Tuesday.
Bahcesehir, meanwhile, will look for playmakers Jaleen Smith and Kenan Sipahi to exert the same control that saw them combine for 12 assists with just 2 turnovers in Game 1... and then let the defense do the rest.
