Virtus Segafredo Bologna 75-67. Lietkabelis Panevezys
Virtus defeated visiting Lietkabelis 75-67 on Wednesday night and will face ratiopharm Ulm in the quarterfinals. Despite enjoying a 14-point advantage early in the third quarter, the hosts had to use a strong defensive display in the fourth - in which the visitors were held to just 10 points in the opening 9 minutes - to confirm the win. Mam Jaiteh led the way for the winners with 20 points in just 21 minutes on 9-of-10 shooting and Kyle Weems added 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Gediminas Orelik and Nikola Radicevic were Lietkabelis’s top scorers with 12 apiece.
Gran Canaria 87-60 Slask Wroclaw
Gran Canaria cruised past Slask 87-60 to advance with ease to the next stage. The home side raced into an 11-0 lead and that set the tone for the rest of the encounter, with Slask rarely looking like competing for a shock road win. Nico Brussino led the way with 15 points on 4-of-6 three-point shooting plus 8 rebounds, while Slask’s Kerem Kanter topped all scorers with 16 points. Gran Canaria will now face MoraBanc Andorra at home next week in the quarterfinals.
