Gran Canaria prolonged its commitment to playmaker Andrew Albicy on Sunday by prolonging his current contract two more seasons through 2025. The move came two days after Gran Canaria hired a former point guard, Jaka Lakovic as its head coach for the next two seasons.

Albicy (1.78 meters, 32 years old) put up 6.8 points and 6.2 assists over 15 games in the last 7DAYS EuroCup season, in which Gran Canaria won its regular season group. Albicy led the EuroCup with 1.8 steals per game and ranked sixth in assists. He now has six EuroCup seasons for a total of 82 games under his belt. Over that span, he has averaged 8.7 points, 5.3 assists and 1.4 steals. His 118 steals since debuting in the EuroCup in 2011 for BCB Gravelines of his native France are second over that span.
