The big man will remain with the Canary Islands club for a second season
Gran Canaria, Pierre Pelos stay together
Dreamland Gran Canaria and big man Pierre Pelos have agreed to terms on a deal that will keep them together for a second season. Pelos (2.05 meters, 31 years old) joined Gran Canaria last summer and averaged 6.1 points on 42.9% three-point shooting and 2.9 rebounds in 19 EuroCup games. He also contributed 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in the Spanish League.
This season will be Pelos's fifth in the EuroCup. Prior to joining Gran Canaria, he spent four seasons with Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, including three in the EuroCup. he has career averages of 9.5 points in 44.0% three-point shooting and 4.4 rebounds in 95 games.
Pelos is among the greatest shooters in competitor history. He has made 85 threes at a 44.0% rate, which is 23rd all-time in the EuroCup. Pelos is 18th at career free-throw accuracy (88.0%).
He began his professional career with Valence RGB and later played for Auch, EB Pau-Lacq-Orthez, L’union Lourdes-Tarbes Pyrenees Basket, Saint Chamond Basket Valle du Gier and FOS Provence Basket before settling in with Bourg. Gran Canaria is the only team outside of his native France that Pelos has played for.
