Despite losing the PIR tally 103-84, the Towers from Hamburg prevailed in the English capital.
Hamburg beat PIR logic in London

Veolia Hamburg Towers had to battle until the final second to register its second win of its BKT EuroCup season, downing London Lions 81-83 in the English capital. London won 103-84 in PIR but lost the game. What happened?
First of all, London finished the game with 5 blocked shots and Hamburg only had one, by Lukas Meisner. The hosts only committed 14 fouls, which tied the competition's season low. 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys and Wolves Vilnius previously made 14 fouls apiece in Rounds 3 and 6, respectively.
Hamburg had great efficiency to go to the free throw line despite drawing just 14 fouls. The guests went to the line 14 times. On the other hand, Hamburg drew 23 fouls and only went to the free throw line 16 times. Being able to use its non-shooting fouls so efficiently was one of the biggest keys to this game.
Hamburg finished the game with 22 assists, by far its best mark of the season. It had previously dished 17 assists three times this season. The visitors committed 12 turnovers, but only 4 of them came after the break. William Christmas and Aljami Durham combined for 11 assists and just 2 turnovers.
Three-point shooting was another big key to this game. London only made 4 of 21 attempts from beyond the arc (19.0% 3FG). Meanwhile, Hamburg sank 10 of 26 attempts from beyond the arc (38.5% 3FG). Those 10 three-point shots made are one shy of the team's season-best mark: 11 against Prometey Slobozhanske in Round 1.
In the end, London had a much higher PIR in this game but Hamburg returned home with a very valuable road victory that could be a turning point in its EuroCup season!
