Hamburg adds size with Kur Kuath

Veolia Towers Hamburg has bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Kur Kuath, who penned a two-year deal with his new club on Tuesday.
Kuath (2.08 meters, 25 years old) arrives from ICG Forca Lleida, where he averaged 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 39 Spanish second division games. He led the competition in blocked shots (1.3 bpg.) and helped Lleida gain promotion to the Spanish elite for the first time since the club was founded in 2012.
"I have been watching Kur throughout the season and was immediately impressed by his talent. He plays with a lot of energy at both ends of the court," Hamburg head coach Benka Barloschky said. "He also impressed me in personal conversations. He is a very determined and, at the same time, a down-to-earth young man, I am looking forward to our collaboration and am convinced that he will fit in perfectly with us, both on and off the court."
After finishing his college career with Marquette University, Kuath played for GS Lavrio Aegean Cargo of Greece and Club Ourense Baloncesto of Spain before joining Lleida. He has also been a member of the South Sudanese national team.
