Hamburg signs guard Jaizec Lottie

Veolia Towers Hamburg has strengthened its backcourt by inking guard Jaizec Lottie to a one-year deal, the club announed Wednesday.
Lottie (1.88 meters, 26 years old) arrives from VEF Riga, where he averaged 10.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in seven Latvian League games this season. He helped VEF secure the Latvian double.
"Jaizec is a player we have been following for a long time," said Hamburg head coach Benka Barloschky said. "He dominated in his first year in Switzerland. His move to Italy did not work out as he had imagined. I find the way he reacted to this setback in Riga very impressive and shows mental strength. We took a long time to find the right player in this position and I think we have now succeeded. Jaizec is hungry and ready to take the next step."
The point guard started the 2023-24 season with Givova Scafati Basket, averaging 5.0 points and 2.5 assists in four games before joining VEF in November. He started his professional career with BBC Monthey of Switzerland, posting 20.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.7 steals in 26 Swiss League games.
