The EuroCup contender bolsters its backcourt with the former Spanish League assists leader.
Joventut signs playmaker Shannon Evans

Joventut Badalona added another weapon to its backcourt by signing playmaker Shannon Evans for the remainder of the season. Evans (1.85 meters, 29 years old) arrives from the Shougang Beijing Ducks, where he averaged 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 13 Chinese League games this season. He made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Valencia Basket last season and averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 assists in 12 games. Evans started the 2022-23 campaign with another Spanish club, Betis Baloncesto, where he posted 21.0 points, 5.5 assists and 1.9 steals in five games before joining Valencia.
Evans began his professional basketball career in Hungary with Atomeromu SE Paks. He went to play for Elan Bearnais Pau-Orthez of France and Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul of Turkey before joining Betis. Evans had a breakout 2021-22 season with Betis, during which he led the Spanish League in assists (6.8 apg.) while ranking second in scoring (17.4 ppg.) and steals (1.6 spg.). He has also been a member of the Guinean national team. Evans is set to make his EuroCup debut with Joventut.
