The visitors missed a chance to celebrate their first EuroCup win of the season.
Last-gasp Joventut edges Cedevita 83-81 in thriller

Joventut Badalona ground out a hard-fought and rather fortuitous 83-81 home win over Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana in their BKT EuroCup Round 11, Group A clash on Wednesday.
Joventut, the competition’s semi-finalist last season, improved to 6-5 and stayed on course for a post-season berth, while Cedevita dropped to 0-11 and remained rooted to the bottom of the group.
Andrew Andrews led a balanced Joventut effort with 14 points. Pep Busquets scored 13, while Deshaun Thomas and Andres Feliz added 12 each. Ante Tomic and Vladimir Brodziansky chipped in with 10 apiece for the home team.
At the other end, DJ Stewart paced Cedevita with a game-high 20 points, while Karlo Matkovic added 15 to go with 13 rebounds. Justin Cobbs and Jaka Blazic netted 11 apiece, with Luka Scuka scoring 10 points for the visitors.
Fast start for the hosts
Joventut raced into a 6-0 lead early on, but Cedevita soon regained its composure and nosed ahead 22-26 at the end of the first quarter on the back of excellent three-point shooting. The visiting team sank 6 of 9 shots from beyond the arc in the opening period, with Stewart 3 of 3 as he racked up 9 points.
Cedevita takes control
Cedevita opened up a 22-32 lead early in the second, the biggest advantage either team had throughout the contest, but Joventut kept slashing the deficit steadily. The home team found an extra gear in the closing stages of the first half and Feliz took center stage when he nailed one from downtown on the buzzer, giving Joventut a 49-45 halftime lead.

Back-and-forth tussle continues
Both sides played in fits and starts throughout the third quarter, with Cedevita engineering a pair of 0-7 runs while Joventut put together one 7-0 streak. All said, the game headed into the final 10 minutes with Joventut leading 66-63 in the see-saw battle.
Cedevita has a shot at the end
The lead kept changing hands time and again until the final 54 seconds when Feliz emerged as the hero and Cobbs the villain. Feliz drove for a layup and then converted 1 of 2 free throws in Joventut’s last possession, while Cobbs missed a couple of three-pointers at the other end, including one on the buzzer that would have given Cedevita an unlikely win had it gone in.
