The team captain remains with Lietkabelis for another two seasons
Lietkabelis extends team captain Vytenis Lipkevicius
Lietkabelis Panevezys made its first summer move on Monday by agreeing with team captain Vytenis Lipkevicius on a two-year contract extension. Lipkevicius (1.98 meters, 35 years old) has been with the club for more than the last five seasons, and the last campaign was one of the best of his career.
Lipkevicius started in all but two of his 15 appearances in BKT EuroCup, and posted 8.7 points, making 70.4% of his two-point shots, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals to average a PIR of 13.6.
For his EuroCup career, all over the last four campaigns, Lipkevicius played in 62 games and has career averages of 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals. He has already played 294 matches in all competitions for Lietkabelis.
He started his career with Zalgiris-Sabonio mokykla Kaunas and has also played for Kaunas Triobet, Aisciai Kaunas, Rudupis Prienu, Baltai Kaunas and Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania as well as for s.Oliver Wuerzburg of Germany. He helped Zalgiris win five consecutive Lithuanian League titles from 2012 to 2017 and also lifted a pair of Lithuanian Cups and two Baltic League titles with the same team. Lipkevicius helped the Lithuanian U20 national team to the silver medal at the 2008 European Championships, too.
