Lietkabelis rallies, beats Turk Telekom in overtime, 93-86

7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys overcame a 12-point deficit late in the fourth quarter, then become the first team in the competition history to not allow a single point in overtime, as it downed Turk Telekom Anakara 93-86 in a Tuesday night thriller. Lietkabelis registered its second straight win, improving to 3-4 in Group A, while last season's runner-up Turk Telekom lost its fifth straight game, dropping to a 1-6 record.
Turk Telekom led for all but one third-quarter possession, and was up by 15 with 7 minutes left in regulation. The visitors still had a double-digit lead in the penultimate minute, but Gediminas Orelik knocked down 3 three-pointers in 60 seconds before Donatas Sabeckis went coast-to-coast to score a layup with 0.9 seconds left in the fourth, which forced overtime. In the extra session, no team scored until Orelik's triple with 37 seconds to go, as Lietkabelis went on to secure the win.
Orelik was 8-for-14 from long range and finished with 31 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Nikola Popovic had 18 points, Martynas Varnas 17 and 7 rebounds, while Sabeckis had 10 points and 10 assists. Tyrone Wallace scored 22 for Turk Telekom, Jalen Adams had 20 points and 5 assists, Steven Enoch amassed 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Okben Ulubay also scored 12 in a losing effort.
Adams and Yigitcan Saybir helped the visitors to a 1-8 run and an 8-15 lead. Lietkabelis went inside to Popovic and Vytenis Lipkevicius had a nice reverse layup, before Varnas hit a three-pointer that cut the margin to 17-19. But Wallace answered in the same manner, as the visitors led 19-24 after the opening 10 minutes.
Lietkabelis scored the first 7 points of the second quarter, with Varnas knocking down a three that gave the hosts their first lead, 26-24. However, Turk Telekom answered with a 0-14 run, started with back-to-back-to-back threes, 2 from Ulubay and 1 from Wallace, helping the visitors to 26-38 midway through the second quarter. Enoch was scoring inside for the visitors, but Orelik hit 3 triples before Varnas's four-point play cut it to 41-44, and the visitors held a 44-48 advantage at halftime.

Turk Telekom scored the first 7 points of the third, including a triple from Wallace to open a double-digit margin once again. A corner three from Adams made it 51-64. Popovic was scoring inside for Lietkabelis, slightly eating away at the deficit, and Varnas nailed a corner three as the visitors took 62-70 into the fourth quarter.
But Wallace and Palmer had steals followed by fastbreak dunks on back-to-back possessions to open a 62-77 margin early in the fourth. Lietkabelis needed more than 3 minutes to score its first points of the quarter, before three consecutive baskets from Popovic got the hosts within 70-78. Wallace hit a pair of tough baskets on the other end, getting the margin back within double figures, but Sabeckis hit 1 triple with 2:15 left in regulation, then Orelik nailed back-to-back-to-back shots that made it 84-86 with 32 seconds left. Wallace missed before Sabeckis went coast-to-coast for a layup, forcing overtime.
In an unusual turn of events, neither team scored for more than 4 minutes in the extra session. Then Orelik nailed a three-pointer, his eighth, with 37.3 seconds to go to make it 89-86. He followed it up by banking a shot to seal the deal.
