London Lions kept a reliable depth piece on the perimeter by re-signing swingman Mo Soluade, the club announced Monday. Soluade (1.96 meters, 27 years old) averaged just 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in limited action off the bench in his EuroCup debut, playing 11 minutes per game. But Soluade ranked 15th last season posting 2.4 steals per-40 minutes.
Defense has been Soluade's strength, as a year earlier he led Spanish second division in steals at 1.9 per night playing for Leyma Basquet Coruña. Soluade started his professional basketball career with Unicaja Malaga, playing for its development squad, Clinicas Rincon, for the best part of five seasons. He made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Unicaja in the 2014-15 season, averaging 4.0 points in four games. Soluade has also played for Gipuzkoa Basket, San Pablo Burgos and Breogan Lugo of Spain, as well as for Legia Warszawa of Poland. He helped Breogan win the Spanish second division league title in 2021. Soluade has also been a member of the British national team.
