Marko Simonovic heads to Besiktas on loan
Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul has announced the signing of Marko Simonovic, who joins the club on loan from Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade until the end of the 2023-24 season. Simonovic (2.13 meters, 24 years old) averaged 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11 games for Zvezda in the EuroLeague this season, his first in the competition. He will make his BKT EuroCup debut with Besiktas.
Simonovic now heads to a Besiktas side looking to consolidate its place in the EuroCup playoff places, with the team currently sitting fifth in Group A with an 8-5 record. Besiktas was on a three-game slide before winning its last two fixtures, so head coach Dusan Alimpijevic will hope the arrival of the Montenegrin big man can put the team in a good position playoff-wise.
